Somu Trading Co

Down in Yeshwantpur, inside the Janki Centre, that’s where you’ll find Somu Trading Co. We are at number 19, just off Veera Desai Road. It’s an interesting spot because there's always something going on nearby. We’ve been here for a bit now, handling our trading business. The office is small and usually smells like paper and whatever we happen to be moving that week. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re not looking for it, but once you know the Janki Centre, it’s fine. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. We mostly work with other businesses and some locals who know we carry what they need. It’s a lot of lifting and counting boxes most days. My brother and I run the place. We don't always agree on how to stack the crates, but we get the job done. The street outside, Veera Desai Road, stays busy from morning till night. Sometimes the noise gets in, but we’re used to it. We keep our records in big ledgers mostly. It feels more real that way than using a computer for everything. Being in Yeshwantpur has its perks, mostly because of the people we meet. We’re just a small part of the hustle here at number 19. We stay late most nights just to make sure the books are balanced.
