Nayak Electronics

Our shop is located at Shop No. 4, right near the FCI Godown in Whitefield. The area is always busy because of the godowns and the Kadikudi post nearby. It is a dusty part of town and we are constantly cleaning the shelves. We work on all kinds of electronic items that people bring in. The workbench is usually covered in soldering irons and tiny screws that are easy to lose. It takes a lot of patience to figure out why a circuit isn't working right. We don't have a large storefront, just enough space for the counter and the repair area. People usually find us by word of mouth since we’ve been here for years. The noise from the trucks going to the godown is something we’ve grown used to. Sometimes we have to wait for parts to arrive from the city which can be frustrating for the customers. We just tell them the truth about how long it will take. It’s an honest way to run a business. My hands are usually steady but some of the modern parts are getting so small they are hard to see. We just keep going one item at a time. It’s a simple shop and we like it that way. Being situated out here in Whitefield means we get a mix of local residents and people who work at the warehouses. Sometimes we sit outside on a plastic stool when business is slow and watch the world go by. We are not interested in becoming a big electronics chain. We just like fixing things with our hands and seeing them work again. It is a good way to spend the day.
