We have been working out of the Inland Container Depot on Whitefield Road for quite some time now. Our office is located in Administrative Building Number 1, specifically on the second floor of what everyone calls the old building. It is a busy area with trucks and containers moving around at all hours. You can hear the noise from the yard throughout the day, which is just part of being in this line of work. We handle the various freight tasks that come through here. It is not a fancy setup with glass walls or anything like that. Instead, it is a practical workspace where we keep our files and manage the logistics. Sometimes the stairs in the old building feel a bit long, especially when we are in a hurry, but it keeps us active. Most of our day is spent on the phone or tracking shipments on the screen. We know the security guards at the gate and the other people working in the nearby offices. It is a tight-knit community of workers here at the ICD. We try to stay organized even when things get hectic with the arrivals. The office has enough space for our desks and a small area where we can sit and have tea during breaks. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving. We just focus on getting the freight moved to where it needs to go next without making things too complicated.
