Sicco Engineering Works

Our workshop is over at 454 in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. This is a big industrial area and there are hundreds of workshops just like ours nearby. We do general engineering and metal work. The floor is made of thick concrete and it is usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings from the machines. It is a noisy place when the lathes and drills are all going at once. We have a small cabin in the corner that serves as our office, but we are rarely in there. We prefer being out where the machines are. It gets very hot in Ambattur during the summer, so we have some big industrial fans to try and keep the air moving. We have some old metal lockers for our clothes and a small area where we keep our tiffin boxes for lunch. Most of the people working here have been doing this for a long time and they have the calluses to prove it. We do not have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people knowing where we are. The gate at the front squeaks every time it opens, and we have been meaning to oil it for months. It is just a regular engineering shop where we work hard and try to stay on top of the orders.
