Shri Lakshmi Times

We are located at 3 7 in Chamrajpet right opposite the old Uma Talkies. This part of town has so much history and we have been a part of it for a long time at Shri Lakshmi Times. Our shop is where people come when their watches stop working or they need a new wall clock for their house. It’s a small space and we have a lot of tools spread out on the working desk. I learned the trade from my elders and I’ve been sitting at this same bench for years. The noise from the street is constant because of the theater and the shops nearby. We don’t have any big corporate goals or anything. We just want to do a good job with the repairs so people come back next time. Many of our customers are old-timers who have been living in Chamrajpet their whole lives. They remember when the theater was the main attraction and things were much slower. We keep a variety of watches in the glass cases but the main work is the servicing and cleaning of old timepieces. It’s quiet work that takes a lot of focus. Sometimes we sit here for hours just working on one single watch. It’s just how we live. We don’t use any fancy marketing tricks. If you need a watch fixed you just come to the shop and we talk about it.
