Shivaprakash Silk House

Our shop, Shivaprakash Silk House, is up on the 1st floor of the Soundarya Sampige building in Malleshwaram. The address is 412/9, and being on the first floor means you have to walk up a flight of stairs to find us. Malleshwaram is a great area with a lot of history, and we are glad to be a part of it. We specialize in silks, and we have quite a bit of it stored in our shelves and cabinets. The shop is not very large, but the high ceilings help it feel a bit more open. We do not have big signs or flashing lights. Most people find us through word of mouth or by seeing our small board downstairs. We spend a lot of time folding and refolding the fabrics to keep them looking okay. Since we are on the first floor, it is a bit quieter than the shops right on the street level. We like that because it lets us talk to customers without having to shout over the traffic. We have been doing this for many years and have seen the styles change, but we mostly stick to the classic silk patterns. It is a slow and steady kind of business. We are not looking to expand or become a big chain. We just want to keep providing good silk to the people who come to Malleshwaram. It is hard work, but it is what we know how to do.
