Shiro Restaurant

Shiro Restaurant is up on the third floor of the UB City Mall on Vittal Mallya Road. It is right next to the Shell petrol bunk which is a good landmark if you are driving around Bangalore. Being in the mall means it is a bit of a trek to get to us sometimes, especially with the security and the parking levels. Once you get to the third floor though, the place opens up quite a bit. It is a large space with high ceilings and a very big statue that everyone seems to notice first. We have been here for quite some time now. Most people come for the Asian food like sushi or dim sum. It gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights when the music is a bit louder and the crowd is younger. During the day it is a lot quieter and you can actually hear yourself talk. We have an outdoor area too which is nice when the Bangalore weather is behaving itself. The kitchen team works hard on the plates but we are mostly concerned with the flavors being right. It is a fancy building, but we try to keep the atmosphere feeling like a place where you can just sit and relax for a while. It is a bit different from the smaller shops on the street. Anyway, we just focus on the daily tasks of running a restaurant in a place like this and making sure the orders go out.
