Sharma Industries

Sharma Industries is tucked away in Malleshpalya at 90, 3rd Main, 3rd Cross. It is a bit of a maze back here in the residential blocks, but we like the spot. Our building is a simple structure that houses all our gear and materials. We do various industrial jobs, mostly working with metal and machine parts. The floors are a bit uneven and there is usually a layer of fine metal dust on the windows. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Our neighbors are used to the sounds of our workshop by now, even though we try not to be too loud during odd hours. There is a small desk where we keep our logbooks and pens, but most of the action happens on the shop floor. We have a few long-time employees who are basically family at this point. We don't use any fancy management techniques; we just talk about what needs to be done and then we do it. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually when we stop for a few minutes. It is a practical, no-frills kind of operation. We don’t have a big corporate sign, just the address and the name painted near the door. It’s just a group of people working hard to make things that last. We are happy to stay right here in Malleshpalya and keep doing what we know best. Sometimes we sit out front for a bit once the machines are turned off.
