Being in the APMC Yard in Yeshwanthpur means we see a different kind of crowd. It’s a market area, so things start very early here, way before the rest of the city wakes up. You have trucks coming in with loads of vegetables and grain, and the workers are always hungry and in a hurry. We stay busy from the crack of dawn. It’s a bit of a rough-and-tumble area, not like the fancy parts of Bangalore. Everything is about the market. Our place is simple. We have the usual stuff people like to eat when they’ve been working since 3 AM. The noise of the trucks and the shouting from the market is always in the background. It gets quite dusty too, with all the sacks being moved around. We don’t have time for fancy talk or complicated menus. We just serve what we have and keep the plates moving. The staff is used to the fast pace. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up when a big group of loaders comes in all at once, but we manage. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the people around here know us. We aren't trying to win awards or anything. We just provide a place to sit for a minute and eat something before getting back to the yard. That’s the reality of working in Yeshwanthpur every day.
