You can find us on the first floor of Roopa Complex, which is No.6 on the 3rd Main in Chamarajpet. We are quite close to the Kannada Sahitya Parishad, so that’s a good way to orient yourself if you are new to the area. Being on the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, but mostly we are looking at our pots and pans. Chamarajpet is an old part of the city with a lot of tradition, and we feel like we fit right in. Our space in Roopa Complex is divided into a cooking area and a small corner where we handle the organizing side of things, like booking venues or talking to suppliers. It’s often a bit chaotic with phone calls coming in while we are trying to manage the steam from the boilers. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just a working office and kitchen. We spend our days coordinating with various people and making sure the food prep is on track for whatever event is coming up. The stairs in the complex are narrow, so we’ve become experts at carrying heavy loads up and down without hitting the walls. It’s a busy, practical life, and we don’t have much time for polish or corporate talk. We just get the work done as best as we can without making too much of a fuss for anyone.
