We’ve been at 581 M G Road in Chickpet for a while now. If you know this part of Bangalore, you know how packed it gets. Every morning, we unlock the shutters and the noise from the street just starts pouring in. It’s a lot of work keeping things organized here. There’s always someone coming in or a delivery truck blocking the narrow lane outside. We spend most of our day dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there talking until it comes back. The tea stall nearby is where we get our morning break. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular shop where we do our business. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some shops closed down and new ones opened up, but we’re still here at the same spot. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction nearby, but that’s just how it is in Chickpet. We try to keep the counters clean, but with so many people walking in from the street, it’s a constant job. Our staff has been with us for years, so we all know how the routine goes. It isn’t always easy managing everything in such a busy area, but we make it work somehow. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on the street, just a regular shop where we do our work and keep things moving along.
