Seema Resham Khadi Industrialists Association

Seema Resham Khadi Industrialists Association is based at 21 Palace Road, in the Darukhana area. It is an old building with high ceilings that stay relatively cool even when it is hot outside. We have been operating from this spot for quite a while. Since we deal with Khadi and silk, the rooms are often filled with the smell of fabric and thread. It is not a modern office by any means. We have old wooden tables and chairs that have been here for decades. There is a lot of coming and going because we work with different weavers and workers. It is a bit of a hub for people in the trade. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on the actual production and the materials. Sometimes we sit around and talk about the quality of the thread for hours. It is slow work, but it is what we know. We don't use much in the way of computers, mostly just handwritten notes and some old ledgers. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for when the deliveries arrive. We aren't trying to change the world, we are just keeping a traditional craft going in our own small way. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they have been coming here for years. It is just a part of the local history.
