Operating Satya Lakshmi Academy Of Music on Brigade Road and Whitefield Road 922 keeps us pretty busy most days. It’s quite a distance between these areas but we manage to be around. The noise from Brigade Road is always there, you know how that part of town gets on the weekends. Sometimes I think the music we play gets lost in the honking of the cars outside. At 922, it is a bit different but still has that city energy. We have our instruments tucked away in the corners and the rooms are usually filled with some kind of sound, even if it is just someone practicing the scales over and over. It is not a very quiet life. I spend a lot of time moving between the two spots. The stairs can be a bit steep and sometimes the lights flicker if the rain is heavy. We don't really bother with decorating much because the music is why people are here anyway. People find us because of the location. It is easy to spot if you are walking down Whitefield Road. We have been here for some time now and the walls are starting to show their age a bit. It is just a regular place where notes are played and people try their best. Sometimes the strings break and we have to fix them quickly before the next person arrives for their time. (236 words)
