Sarvodaya Engineering Works

Peenya Industrial Estate is a massive place, and we are tucked away in the 2nd Phase at No.49-A. If you’ve ever been here, you know it’s all about the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of cutting oil in the air. We’ve been operating Sarvodaya Engineering Works out of this unit for a long time. It’s not a glamorous job, but engineering work is what keeps everything else running. We have some older machines that still work perfectly and a few newer ones we had to buy to keep up with the workload. The floor is concrete and always has a few oil stains no matter how much we try to scrub it. Most of our day is spent looking at technical drawings or measuring parts with calipers. We don't have a big corporate office; the desk is right there next to the drill press. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer, but we keep the fans going. We deal with other businesses in the estate mostly. It’s a tight-knit community here in Peenya. You can always borrow a tool from the guy next door if yours breaks. We don't spend money on marketing. We just make sure the parts we finish are right before they leave the door. It’s honest work and it fills the day. We’re usually here from early morning until the sun goes down, just getting through the pile of work on the bench. It’s a living.
