We are over here at S B -53 in Peenya, specifically the 2nd Cross in the 1st Stage. It’s a busy industrial area as most people know. There is always noise from machines and trucks moving around. We spend our days working on engineering parts and making sure things are cut right. It’s a lot of metal and grease most days. Our shop isn't fancy or anything like that. It’s just a place where we get the work done. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine gets stuck and we have to fix it ourselves. We have been in this spot for quite some time now. You can usually find us here from early morning until the sun goes down. People drop by with sketches or just verbal instructions on what they need. We try to understand what the customer is asking for and do it. It’s mostly just us and a few workers trying to keep the schedule moving. The 1st Stage of Peenya is quite old but it’s where all the action is. Most of our neighbors are also doing some kind of manufacturing. We talk to them during tea breaks near the gate. It is hard work and our clothes usually have some oil stains by the end of the shift. We don’t have a big office with air conditioning. It’s just the workshop floor and a small desk where we keep the papers. That’s how we have always operated.
