Santosh Engineering Works

We are located over at number 20 in Koniamman Nagar. If you know where Saraswathi Hospital is on Trichy Road, we are just behind it in the Chinthamanipudur Post area. It’s a handy landmark because otherwise, people sometimes get lost in the side streets. Santosh Engineering Works isn't a huge operation. It’s just a few of us handling the machining and the repairs that come in from the local factories. The shop floor is concrete and stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the roof. We have a couple of old fans that move the air around, but they make a lot of noise. The driveway is a bit bumpy, so be careful if you’re bringing a low car back here. We mostly spend our time on the floor, so if the phone rings, it might take a second for someone to wipe their hands and pick it up. Trichy Road is always humming with buses and trucks, but back here in the nagar, it stays a little more relaxed. We don't have any big marketing slogans or anything like that. We just look at the drawings people bring in and tell them if we can do it or not. It’s honest work and we like being part of the community here behind the hospital. The tea guy comes by at eleven every morning, which is usually when we take our first real break.
