Sagar Polypack

Out here on Kothi Salatwada Road at number 18, the sound of the machines is something you just get used to. At Sagar Polypack, we deal with a lot of plastic and packaging materials. The rolls are stacked high against the walls, almost touching the ceiling in some spots. It’s a bit of a maze walking through the back area. The smell of heated plastic is always there in the air, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the roof. We aren't trying to be anything fancy; we just have a job to do. My desk is covered in samples and scraps of paper with measurements scribbled on them. Sometimes a customer comes in wanting a specific size, and we have to go hunting through the inventory to see what we have left. It’s a lot of back and forth. The Girinagar area is pretty busy, so there is always a truck idling outside or someone honking their horn. We drink a lot of water because it gets dry inside with all the material around. The guys in the back have their own rhythm, and we usually just let them get on with it. It’s hard work and the days feel long, but there is something satisfying about seeing the finished rolls ready to be shipped out to whoever needs them.
