Our workshop is at No. 332, on the 4th Main road in Peenya 4th Phase. If you’ve ever been to Peenya, you know it’s a huge industrial layout with thousands of small shops like ours. At R.R. Forgings, the main thing you’ll notice is the sound. Forging is loud work, and there’s no getting around that. We’ve got the hammers going and the furnaces running hot most of the day. It’s hard work, especially when the weather in Bangalore gets a bit warm, though it’s usually not too bad. We have a small group of workers who are really good with the metal. They know exactly how long to heat a piece before it’s ready to be shaped. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. Most of our work comes from other engineering firms who know we can handle the tough jobs. The shop floor is crowded with tools and scrap metal, and that’s just how we like it. We usually start the day with a quick talk about what needs to be shipped out and then we just get to it. Sometimes we stay late if a big order needs to go out the next morning, but we don't mind the extra hours. It’s just how we stay in business and keep things moving forward. We’re just a bunch of regular people doing our best with the tools and the 9th Cross corner nearby.
