Regal Watch Company

Regal Watch Company is tucked away near the Fuma showroom on Oosman Khan Road. If you find the KFC on the corner of 2nd Cross and Brigade Road, you’re basically there. We’ve been working with watches for a long time. It’s small work, very fiddly, and you need a steady hand for it. We see all kinds of watches come through the door, some very old and some that people just bought. It’s a lot of changing batteries and fixing straps, but sometimes we get to open them up and look at the gears. The shop isn't very big, so it can feel a bit cramped when a few customers come in at once. We spend a lot of time under those bright desk lamps with magnifying glasses. Oosman Khan Road is always moving, so it’s nice to have a quiet spot to focus on the tiny parts. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we're here next to the big shops. Sometimes we can't find the right part for an old watch, and that’s frustrating, but we try our best. It’s a traditional kind of business. We grew up around clocks and watches, so it feels natural to be doing this. It’s good to see someone’s old watch start ticking again after it’s been sitting in a drawer for years. We just keep our heads down and keep the movements running as best as we can.
