Regal Watch Co

Regal Watch Co is right there on the corner where Baner Balewadi Road and Brigade Road meet. It’s a very busy spot and there are always people rushing past our windows. Inside, it’s much quieter. We have these small tables where we work on watches. It takes a lot of patience to deal with those tiny screws and springs. Some of the watches people bring in are very old and have been in their families for years. We treat them carefully. The shop has been here for a while and the shelves are full of old clock parts and tools we’ve gathered over time. Sometimes a customer will come in just to ask what time it is, which is funny because we have clocks all over the walls. Most of the day is just quiet concentration. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. The floor is a bit worn down from people walking in and out over the years. We don't have any big sales pitches or anything like that. If you have a watch that stopped, you bring it in and we look at it. That’s pretty much how it goes every day. It’s a good trade to be in because people always want to know what time it is. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is a slow process but we like being part of the Brigade Road area.
