Rangoli Restaurant

You can find us over at No 6 on the 1st Main Road, right along Kalidasa Marg in the Gandhi Nagar area. Being tucked behind Freedom Park gives Rangoli Restaurant a little bit of a break from the main Bangalore city noise, but not really that much. This city is always loud anyway. The walk from the main park entrance to our door is just a few minutes. We see a lot of people who are just passing through Gandhi Nagar for work or visiting the government offices nearby. The building has been here for many years, and you can see that in some of the corners and the floor. We don't mind it though. It feels like home to us after all this time. The mornings start with the sound of the traffic building up on Kalidasa Marg. We spend that time getting the chairs lined up and checking the stock in the back room. The afternoon sun hits our front windows pretty hard, so we usually keep the curtains half-drawn so people can eat in peace. It is a bit cramped inside when it gets full, but people don't seem to care as long as they have a place to sit. We have a few staff members who have been with us since the start. They know the regulars who come in every week. It is just a plain restaurant where you can sit down for a bit.
