About Rakesh Traders – Agriculture & Farming in Bengaluru
Being near the Yeshwanthpur Railway Station means there is always a lot of movement. The shop number is 2-896-741, but most people just look for the pile of crates out front on Yeshwantpur Road. It stays pretty loud with the trains and the trucks going by all the time. We spend a lot of the day just unloading stuff and stacking it back up again. It’s mostly wholesale work, so there are always invoices lying around on the small desk. The light inside isn’t very bright, but we know where every box is kept. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to pull everything back from the entrance quickly so nothing gets damp. The floor is concrete and has some cracks, but it holds the weight of the heavy sacks just fine. People come in and out, mostly other shopkeepers or guys with tempos. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a place of work. My shirt gets dirty from the dust on the bags by midday. We usually eat lunch sitting on some of the sturdier boxes if the chairs are occupied. It is a busy spot in Yeshwanthpur, and the day goes by fast when the station is crowded. You get used to the whistling of the engines after a while. It’s just how things go at this end of the road. I usually lock up late when the street lights are already on.
