Our shop is right on Police Road in Ranasinghpet, part of the Cottonpet area. If you know this part of town, you know it’s always packed with people and vehicles. We are at number 62. We deal with agro sales, so our days are filled with bags of seeds and various supplies for farmers and gardeners. It’s a dusty job sometimes, handling all those sacks, but it’s what we do. The building is old, like most of the ones around here, and we use every bit of space we have to store the inventory. We don’t really have a showroom. It’s more of a place where you come in, tell us what you need for your crops, and we pull it from the back. Dealing with the traffic on Police Road is a daily challenge, especially when we have a delivery truck trying to unload. We’ve been in Cottonpet for a long time, so we know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a community of sorts. We aren’t interested in being a big corporate entity; we just want to make sure the local growers get what they need for the next season. Some days are slower than others, depending on the rains and the planting cycles, but there’s always something to organize or clean. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in. There is always a pot of tea going in the back.
