H V Shivappa & Sons

Down in New Tharagpet, on the 1st Main, you will find H V Shivappa & Sons. We are at number 9. It is an old part of the city, and the streets are narrow and full of history. We have been at this address for a long time now. The building is a bit cramped, but we make use of every inch of space we have. There are always stacks of items piled up, and the phone seems to ring at the most inconvenient times. Being on 1st Main means we are right in the thick of the trading district. It is a noisy, vibrant place to be. We do not have a fancy lobby or air conditioning that works all the time. H V Shivappa & Sons is just a name that represents our family and the work we do every day. We handle things personally, usually with a pen behind the ear and a lot of lists to check off. The floor is concrete and worn down from years of feet walking over it. We know most of the other shop owners on the street. We help each other out when a truck blocks the way or when someone needs change. It is a community of workers. We do not use big words to describe what we do. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them when the sun goes down. Number 9 is our home away from home.
