Rajalakshmi Home Made Chocolate

We started Rajalakshmi Home Made Chocolate right in our own space in Krishnarajpuram. Our address is number 51. It’s more of a home setup than a proper store. The kitchen is always busy. There are trays of chocolates cooling on every flat surface we can find, even the dining table sometimes. It’s a family thing, really. My sister helps with the mixing and I handle the heat. We don’t have any big machines to do the work for us. Everything is stirred by hand with a big wooden spoon. Our neighbors in Krishnarajpuram know the smell when we’re working on a big batch. They often drop by to see if we have any scraps or broken pieces left over. We don’t have a fancy sign outside, just a small board near the gate. It gets a bit chaotic around the holidays when everyone wants something at once. The floor gets covered in cocoa powder and we’re constantly cleaning up. We’ve been doing this at number 51 for years. It’s not a polished business with a lot of rules. We just make what we can and sell it to whoever comes by. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to wait for the next delivery to show up. It’s just how it goes when you’re doing everything yourself from home. We just keep moving until the last order is packed up and ready to go out.
