About Ragamohini Sangeetha Patasala – Education in Bengaluru
We are tucked away in Langford Town, right near Crawford Market at 1-A. You can usually hear us before you see us because there is almost always someone practicing their scales or singing somewhere inside. The sounds of the market outside sometimes drift in, so you get this mix of city noise and music that is actually kind of nice. The rooms are filled with instruments and mats on the floor where students sit. It is a very simple setup, nothing like those big modern schools you see in the mall. We have kids coming in after school with their instrument cases, and then later on, we get the adults who want to learn something new after they finish work. The walls have a few old pictures on them, and the furniture has seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our time going over the same notes until they sound right, which takes a lot of patience from everyone involved. It gets a bit crowded on the weekends when everyone has their lessons at the same time, but we manage to make it work. Langford Town is a quiet enough area most of the time, so it suits what we do here. We just like having the music around and seeing people slowly get better at it. It’s a slow process, but we aren't in any hurry. It is just how things have been at Crawford Market for years.
