R S Engineering & Services is found at shop number 2 in the Durga Complex on Khodiyar Nagar Road. We are in the T Dasarahalli area, right across the street from the ETDC building. Our workshop is a small place where we do various engineering jobs and repairs for machines. It is usually quite messy with tools spread out on the workbenches and the floor often has some oil patches on it. We aren't a big corporation; it is just me and a couple of guys who know how to work with metal and engines. We have some older machines like a lathe and a drill press that have been with us since we opened. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people in the area know where we are. We don't do any big advertising because we usually have enough work just from people telling their friends about us. If a local factory has a part that broke, they bring it here and we see if we can fix it or make a new one. It is loud and hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer, but we just keep the doors open and get on with it. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around or use the generator, which is loud and smelly. We work mostly on practical things that people need for their own businesses. It is a lot of grease and hard work, but it is a good way to make a living in this part of town.
