The machines at 75/76 in Peenya Industrial Area are usually running before the sun is fully up. It is a bit loud inside our shed, but that is just how engineering shops go. We handle a lot of metalwork, mostly custom bits and pieces that larger factories don't want to mess with. My father started this place, and I took over the floor years ago. We have got lathes and milling machines that have seen better days, yet they still cut straight and true if you know how to handle them. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon, and there is always a pot of tea sitting somewhere near the workbench. Clients bring us drawings on scraps of paper sometimes, and we figure out how to make it work in steel or iron. It is greasy, heavy work, and our hands are never really clean, even after scrubbing. We don't spend much time on paperwork or fancy meetings. If someone needs a part fixed or a frame welded, they just walk in and talk to us. We stick to what we know. The neighborhood is full of similar shops, but we've carved out our own little corner here. It isn't a clean office job, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished part ready for delivery. It's just what we do here day in and day out.
