Prime Time

Prime Time is located in a pretty unique spot. We are in the Santhosh Theatre Complex, specifically at 24/1/4, which is actually below the theatre itself. Being on Kempa Gowda Road means we are right in the heart of the city’s old cinema district. When a big movie is playing, you can actually feel the vibrations from the sound system upstairs. The whole building shakes a little, and you can hear the crowds cheering when a hero appears on screen. It’s a bit dark down where we are, and we rely on our indoor lights all day long. The air is a bit different underground, and it can get quite warm when the complex is full of people. We’ve got our counters and our displays set up in this basement-like space. It’s not where you’d expect to find a shop like ours, but it’s been our home for a while. We see all kinds of people, from moviegoers killing time before a show to regulars who have been coming to KG Road for years. The traffic outside is some of the worst in Bangalore, but once you step down into the complex, it’s a different world. We don’t have any fancy signage or big windows. We just stay here, doing our work while the movies play over our heads. It’s a strange place to work, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
