Prem Engineering Works

If you head down towards Jakkur Hanumappa Layout 77, you will eventually find our place. Prem Engineering Works has been sitting in this exact spot for a good while now. The layout is mostly a quiet residential area, but you can usually hear the sound of the machines coming from our building during the day. It is a bit of a mess sometimes with all the metal scraps and small parts lying around on the benches, but that is just how an engineering shop looks when there is actually work being done. I started this whole thing because I always liked fixing things with my hands, and Jakkur seemed like a decent enough area to set up a shop. We aren't located in one of those huge industrial parks, just a regular building at number 77. The floor is made of concrete and it always has a few oil stains on it, no matter how many times we try to sweep it clean. It is a small team here, just a couple of guys who really know their way around a lathe and some heavy tools. We don't have a fancy waiting room with magazines or a receptionist sitting at a desk. If the front door is open, someone is usually in the back working on a part or cleaning a machine. Sometimes the power goes out in the heat of the afternoon, so we just take a short break and sit outside for a bit. It’s a steady life and we just do what we can.
