Being in Peenya Industrial Estate means you are surrounded by the sound of machines all day long. Our unit is at No. B-28/A, right on the 1st Cross of the 1st Stage. It’s a busy part of the city, and Pragathi Precision Components is right in the thick of it. The floor is usually covered in a thin layer of oil, and the smell of cutting fluid is everywhere. We spend our hours watching the lathes and making sure every piece comes out the way it’s supposed to. It’s loud, so we usually have to shout to be heard over the hum of the motors. Our office is just a glass-walled cubicle in the corner where we keep the blueprints and the invoices. It’s not a place for fancy clothes; most of us have grease under our fingernails by lunch. We have a small crew, and everyone knows their machine inside and out. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate, and we all just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. Dealing with the heat in the summer can be tough, especially with the machines running. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just walking through the estate looking for someone who can do the work. It’s a straightforward way to live. We make the parts, pack them up, and send them off.
