Pradeep Time Centre

Pradeep Time Centre is located at number 11 Kanchpada on Ramchandra Lane. We are in the Mathikere area. It’s a small shop that is entirely dedicated to watches and various types of clocks. When you walk in, you’ll hear the constant ticking of many different pieces hanging on the walls. It’s a rhythmic sound we have grown very fond of over the years. The shop is quite small, so there isn't much room for more than a couple of people to stand at once. Most of the floor space is taken up by the big workbench where we do all the repair work. There are tiny screws, glass faces, and springs everywhere, so we have to be very careful with our movements. We spend our days looking through small magnifying glasses to see the gears. It can be a bit hard on the eyes after a few hours, but we really like the precision of the work. Mathikere is a busy neighborhood, and people often stop by to get a watch battery changed or a leather strap fixed. We have been sitting at this same spot for many years. The front window gets a lot of bright sun in the afternoon, which makes the shop quite warm. We don't have any fancy computers for our records; we mostly just write everything down in a paper book. It’s a slow and steady kind of business. We take our time with each piece because you simply can't rush this kind of thing.
