You can find Prabha Times on the first floor of Parris Corner in Balepet. Our address is number 93. It’s a busy area, lots of shops packed together, but we’ve been here in this building for a long time. We deal with watches and timepieces. Some people come in for repairs, others want to buy a new wrist watch. Balepet is a crowded place, and our shop is up the stairs, so it’s a little quieter once you get inside. We have glass cases filled with different brands. It’s a small space, mostly taken up by the workbench where we do the fine work. Fixing watches takes a lot of patience and good lighting. My eyes get tired by the end of the day. We don't do any flashy marketing. People usually find us through word of mouth or they’ve been coming here since they were young. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the decades. Old mechanical watches are becoming rare, but we still know how to fix them. Most people these days just want a battery change for their quartz watch. We open pretty early because the market starts moving fast. It’s just us here, working through the day. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the trade. It’s an honest way to spend the day in this part of the city. We keep the shop going because it's what we know.
