Ab Engineering Industries

Our workshop is located at No. 6/2 in the Thimmaiah Industrial Estate. We are tucked behind Asian Fab in the Peenya Second Phase area. Peenya is full of shops like ours, so there is always a lot of noise from machines and trucks moving around. The workshop has a high ceiling and a concrete floor that is stained with oil from years of work. We have several old lathes and milling machines that we use every day. It is a loud place, and you have to raise your voice to be heard over the hum of the engines. We do not have a proper office; just a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and some old blueprints. Most of our day is spent standing on our feet, measuring metal parts and making sure the cuts are right. It gets very dusty, and our clothes usually end up covered in metal shavings by the end of the shift. There is a small tea stall just outside the estate gates where we go for breaks. We do not really have a big team, just a handful of workers who know how to handle the equipment. We do not do any advertising; the work comes in from other factories nearby that need parts made. It is hard work and the hours are long, but we are used to the rhythm of the machines and the smell of cutting oil.
