Passion 4 Chocolate

We’ve been running Passion 4 Chocolate here in Kumara Park for a good while now. It’s just a small shop at 41306. Most days it’s just me and a couple of others trying to keep up with the orders. The shop isn't anything special to look at. We have some old shelves and a fridge that hums way too loud in the afternoon. Chocolate is a tricky thing to work with when it's hot outside. You end up with melted bits on your fingers and your clothes. We don't have a fancy uniform. Usually just an old apron that’s seen better days. The floor at 41306 is concrete and it’s hard on the feet after a long shift. We spend a lot of time just tempering the batches and making sure they set right. Sometimes they don't and we have to start all over again. That's just part of it. The neighborhood in Kumara Park is mostly quiet during the day. We get a few people walking by who stop because they smell the cocoa. We don't have a big sign out front. It’s just the name on the glass. The packaging is pretty simple too. We just use plain brown boxes and some tape that always gets stuck to itself. It’s not a polished business. We’re just local people making stuff. The sink is always full of bowls that need washing. It’s a lot of manual work. We just keep at it and hope the power doesn't go out.
