You’ll find us at the corner of Cambridge Road Cross in Ulsoor. We’re right across from the Nilgiris, which is a big help when we’re trying to tell people where we are. The building is number 1/2. It’s an old part of town with a lot of character, and the streets can be a bit narrow and crowded. Our shop is where we spend all our time, usually surrounded by fabric scraps and measuring tapes. It’s often a bit of a mess because there’s always a project in the middle of being finished. We don't have a big polished showroom; it's more of a workshop where the actual sewing happens. The light from the front window is okay, but we usually have the overhead lamps on so we can see the details. Ulsoor is a busy area, so there’s always people walking past the door. We know the other shop owners on the street, and we often stop to chat when we’re out getting supplies. It’s a very hands-on job, and our fingers are usually a bit sore by the end of the day. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do; we just take the materials and try to make something out of them. It’s a small, slightly cluttered space, but it’s where we work every day. Sometimes we have to move the cutting table just to make enough room for a customer to stand. It gets quite warm in here during the summer afternoons, but the old ceiling fan does its best to help.
