Orient Traders

We’ve been at 163 Sadar Patrappa Road for quite some time now. If you know SP Road, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to load stuff onto their bikes or small trucks. Orient Traders is just a small place, really. We spend most of our time looking through boxes or checking lists for people who come in. It’s not fancy. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to think about that. Most days, it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan and someone arguing about a price outside on the street. We don’t have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We just sit here, drink some tea, and get the work done. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just wait it out. It’s how things are around here. We know the neighbors, the tea stall guy knows exactly how we like our chai, and that’s about it. People come to us because they know where to find us. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the dust of the main road over the years. It feels like home now, honestly, even with all the chaos.
