Wilson Garden 155 is where you’ll find Omkar Melodies, and honestly, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. We have been in this spot for some time, and the neighbors have mostly gotten used to the sound of scales being practiced at odd hours. It’s a place for music, but it’s also a bit of a storage room for old instruments that need a lot of love. I spend a lot of time tuning strings and cleaning out the dust from inside the harmoniums. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s a working space where things get messy. We have kids coming in for lessons and older folks who just want to pick up a guitar again after twenty years. I don’t really follow a strict corporate schedule. If someone is really into a song, we might stay a bit later to get it right. Bangalore traffic is a nightmare right outside our door, but inside, we just try to focus on the notes. Sometimes the roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains hard, and we have to move the piano, but we manage. It’s a comfortable place for people who don’t care about fancy interiors but just want to play something. I started this because I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my time. It’s just about the music and the people who want to learn it, nothing more complicated than that.
