Working out of the Bengaluru International Airport is a bit different from a normal street-side shop. We are located in the Alpha 3 Airline Building. It’s a very functional space, mostly because we are right where the action is with the flights and travelers. The atmosphere is always moving, even if we are inside our own office. You can hear the distant sound of planes and the general hum of the airport machinery. Our desks are usually covered in files and details about luxury items and fashion goods. We don't have a lot of windows that look outside, so we stay focused on the tasks at hand. It’s a lot of logistical work, making sure everything is where it should be. The building is quite sturdy and feels a bit like a bunker sometimes. We have a small area for coffee, and that's usually where we end up talking about things that aren't work-related. It's a professional spot, but we aren't formal with each other. We wear comfortable clothes because the days can be long. We don't have a big story to tell about ourselves. We just manage the luxury retail side of things for the travelers passing through. It's a busy life, and we are just one small part of the whole airport operation. We mostly just keep track of the stock and make sure the paperwork is done on time. It is a unique place to spend the workday.
