Nikil Times

Nikil Times is over at the Jettappa Complex, which is number 26 on Kanakapura Road in Yelechenahally. If you’ve ever driven down Kanakapura Road, you know how busy it can get. Our shop is inside the complex, so it’s a little bit away from the direct noise of the cars, but you can still hear the honking. We mostly deal with watches and timepieces. It’s small-scale work, mostly changing batteries or fixing straps that have worn out. We’ve been here long enough that most of the people in the neighborhood know us by face. The complex itself is an older building, and we’ve been in the same unit for years. We have a small glass counter and a couple of stools for people to sit on while they wait. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just try and do a decent day's work and then head home to our families. Some days are slow, and we just sit and watch the people go by in the hallway of the complex. Other days, we have a line of people needing things done. We just handle it as it comes. It’s a local business, run by local people, and we like being part of the Yelechenahally community. We keep our tools sharp and our clocks wound, and that’s about it for us.
