Being located in the Peenya Industrial Area means we are surrounded by factories and loud machines all day long. Specifically, we are over by Maharashtra Mandal on Tilak Road, unit 16/A 2. At Next Polymers, the machines run for long shifts and the smell of raw plastic is something you just get used to after the first week. It’s a big space but it feels small once you get all the raw materials stacked up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time checking the heat settings and making sure the molds are sitting right. It’s physical work, and the floor gets hot during the summer months. We have a small office tucked in the corner where the paperwork piles up, but most of us are out on the floor. It’s not a quiet place to work, but there’s a rhythm to it that feels right. We’ve been at this address for a while, and the neighborhood has changed a lot, with more trucks on the road every year. Lunch breaks are usually taken quickly so we can get back to the production line. There’s always a delivery coming in or a truck waiting to be loaded up near the Tilak Road entrance. It’s just honest factory work, making parts that people probably use every day without thinking about where they came from. We just focus on the machines and the output.
