Alwin Plastics

Alwin Plastics is located at 1559 in the Dodda Banaswadi area of Manjalpur. It’s a bit of a walk from the main bus stop, but it’s a good spot for us. The building is older and has that character you only get with time. We deal with plastics all day, so there is always a lot of scrap and trimmings that need to be swept up. The broom gets used more than anything else probably. We have a few machines that have been with us since we started. They make a specific rhythmic clicking sound when they are running right. If that sound changes, we all stop what we are doing to see what’s wrong. It’s just a small team of us here. We share a lunch break together at the big wooden table in the back. Sometimes someone brings something home-cooked and we all share. It’s not a corporate environment at all. There are no fancy meetings or long presentations. We just look at what needs to be made and we get to work. The windows are high up, so the light comes in at an angle in the afternoon. It gets a bit dusty, but we don't mind it much. People in the neighborhood know us as the guys who are always there late. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the quality is okay and the machines stay running. It’s just us doing what we know how to do.
