We set up Ace Tools And Components over in Sunkadakatte. Our shop is on the 2nd Cross, off Magadi Main Road in the Mutthuray Swamy laypout, at number 49/5. It’s a place where we keep all sorts of tools and small parts that builders and mechanics need for their daily work. The layout can be a bit confusing to find if you’re not from around here, but we are right near the big banyan tree. The shop is usually a bit of a mess because we are always unloading new crates from the suppliers. We carry everything from simple hammers to more complex machine components for the factories. I spend my mornings checking the ledger and the afternoons helping customers find the right size bolts. It’s a lot of manual work and my hands are usually pretty dirty by the end of the shift. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept on the shelves. Sometimes we run out of a specific component and have to wait for the supplier to come all the way from the city center. The traffic on Magadi Road is always a mess, so we tell people to come early if they can avoid the rush. We aren't trying to be a supermarket for tools. We just want to have the stuff that local people actually use. It’s a tough, honest living and we’ve been here for years now.
