Navrathan Silks

You can find us down Eksar Lane, just off Mahatma Gandhi Road. Being at number 85 means we are right in the middle of things, but tucked away enough that it isn't too noisy. We have been dealing with silks for quite some time. It is a family business, passed down through a couple of generations now. People usually come to us when they have a wedding or a big function coming up. We don't have those big flashy signs you see on the main road. We prefer it this way. It feels more personal when someone walks in. The shop has that old-school smell of fabric and wood. We spend a lot of time talking to weavers and making sure we have a good variety for everyone. Sometimes it gets quite busy in the afternoons, especially when the weather is nice. We are not some big chain store with hundreds of locations. This is our only spot. We know the neighbors and the other shopkeepers around here. Sometimes we sit outside for a tea break when things are slow. It is a simple way of living. We just focus on getting the silk right and making sure the shop stays tidy. It is not a fancy life, but we like what we do. If you are ever walking down MG Road and want to see some nice weaving, just turn into the lane. We will be there.
