We have been over here on Hal Road 115 for a while now. Navarasa Natyalaya is where we teach kids and some adults how to dance. It’s a pretty busy spot most afternoons when the classes start up. We have a couple of rooms set up with mirrors and enough space for everyone to move around. It gets a bit loud sometimes with the music and the bells on the feet, but the neighbors don't seem to mind too much. Most people find us because they live nearby or their cousins came here years ago. We don't really do big advertisements. We just focus on getting the steps right and making sure the students know the rhythms. The floor is usually swept clean before every session, though it gets dusty again pretty quick with all the footwork going on. Some of the younger kids are just learning to stand still, while the older ones are working on their full routines. It’s a lot of repetition, honestly. You hear the same beats over and over until someone finally gets it perfect. We keep our schedules on a board near the entrance so parents know when to pick up their children. It’s nothing fancy, just a place to learn and practice. If you walk past 115 on a Tuesday evening, you’ll probably hear the teacher calling out the counts. We try to keep things organized but it gets a little chaotic when one class ends and the next group is waiting outside.
