Nandhini Paradise Restaurant Jayanagar

If you walk past the Karnataka Bank in Jayanagar 4th Block, you’ll see us at Nandhini Paradise Restaurant. We’re at No.14/A/37/37 on 27th Cross. This area is always buzzing with people shopping for clothes or carrying heavy bags of groceries. I’ve been working here for a while now, and the routine never really changes from month to month. I get in, check the water levels in the tanks, and make sure the tables are lined up straight for the lunch crowd. The 560041 area is pretty busy, so we have to be ready by eleven or things get messy. The uniforms we wear are a bit stiff, but you get used to them after an hour or so of moving around. We have a lot of regular families who come in on Sundays after their shopping is done. The kids usually make a mess with the water glasses, and we spend a lot of time mopping up the floors. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular restaurant where people eat and leave when they are finished. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit chaotic when three big orders come in at once, and you can hear the cook shouting over the noise of the big exhaust fan. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. I usually take my break around four when it’s a bit quieter and have a small tea near the back entrance. It’s a good spot to watch the street. Then the dinner rush starts, and we’re back at it until late.
