Nadha Nenath Music Academy

Our little academy is located over on Sheriff Devji Street in Ulsoor. It’s at 35/1C, a spot that can get quite crowded during the day because of all the shops nearby. We started this place because we wanted a space where music could be taught without all the pressure of a big institution. It’s a small setup, nothing too fancy, just a few rooms where we can sit down and focus on the notes. Most of our students live nearby, so they just walk or bike over after school or work. We teach a variety of things, and the air is usually filled with a mix of different sounds, which can be a bit chaotic but we like it that way. The walls are thin, so you can hear the tabla from the next room while you're trying to practice your singing. It’s an old building, and it has its quirks, like the door that sticks in the monsoon or the specific way you have to flip the switches for the lights. We don't spend money on big ads or glossy brochures. People usually find us because they saw the small sign outside or heard about us from a friend. We just focus on showing up every day and helping whoever walks through the door find their rhythm. It’s a simple life, centered around the music and the people who want to learn it.
