If you walk down 10th Main Road in Basaveshwara Nagar, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. We’re tucked into the 3rd Block, right in the middle of a residential area. There’s almost always the sound of a violin or a veena drifting out into the street. It’s a bit of a maze getting to the 3rd Stage if you aren't from around here, but once you find number 738, you're at the right place. We aren't a big commercial school with hundreds of branches. It’s just a dedicated space where people come to learn classical music. We have students of all ages, from little kids who can barely hold an instrument to older folks who finally have time for a hobby. The rooms are simple, just some mats on the floor and a few chairs. We don't go for anything flashy. Most of the teaching is one-on-one or in small groups because that's the only way music really sticks. Sometimes the sessions run a bit long when a student is struggling with a particular raga, but we don't mind the extra time. The local community has been very supportive of us being here. You’ll often find parents waiting outside on their scooters, chatting while their kids finish up their lessons. It feels more like a family gathering than a school most days. We keep things pretty relaxed but stay serious about the music itself.
