Our office is located at No 39 in the United Mansion building, right on M. G. Road. If you know Bangalore, you know how busy this street gets. There is always the sound of traffic and people walking by. Being in such an old, established building means the ceilings are high and the rooms feel a bit dated, but it has a certain character that the new glass towers lack. We deal with minerals, so there are always rocks and ore samples sitting on the shelves, gathering a bit of dust. It’s not the kind of place where things change very fast. We have people who have worked here for decades, and they still use paper ledgers for some things. The elevators in the building are old and sometimes have a mind of their own, so we usually just take the stairs if we’re in a hurry. M. G. Road has changed so much over the years, but our corner feels like it’s stayed the same. We handle the administrative side of things, making sure the mining sites have what they need and the paperwork is in order. It’s a lot of coordination and phone calls. Sometimes we have visitors from the sites coming in with mud on their boots, which looks a bit funny in the middle of the city. We don’t do much fancy marketing; we just focus on the logistics and the daily grind of the mineral business.
