Operating a crane business out of Chamrajpet means early mornings and a lot of grease on our hands. We are located over at number 163, right near Margret Church. It's a landmark everyone around here knows. Most days start before the sun is even up, checking the engines and making sure the cables are sitting right on the drums. Moving heavy stuff isn't always easy and things don't always go exactly as planned. Sometimes a machine acts up or a tire needs changing right when we are supposed to head out. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating where the next job is and making sure the route is clear. The yard can get pretty messy with all the equipment parked around, but we know where everything is. It’s a loud job, you can’t really help that with big engines running all day. People in Nanpura see our yellow trucks moving through the narrow streets pretty often. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so we know the shortcuts to avoid the worst of the traffic when we can. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping things running. We don't have a big office or anything, just a desk and a lot of tools. When the day ends, we’re usually pretty tired and covered in oil. That’s just the way it is at Murugan Crane Service. We do what we do every single day.
